WordPress Weekend Resources – July 17, 2009

Last Updated on by

It’s been a couple weeks, so here’s another issue of WordPress weekend resources.

5 Useful And Creative Ways To Use WordPress Widgets – This is an article I wrote over at Smashing Magazine. It goes over some useful ways to use WordPress widgets, including having multiple widget-ready areas among other things.

5 Fresh WordPress Plugins Ready to Enhance Your Blog – This article by Mark Fulton over at DotSauce discusses five interesting WordPress plugins. I’ll be honest in that I haven’t heard of most of these, including a plugin for a built-in WordPress URL shortener and one to reduce image file sizes on the fly.

The Autopsy Of WordPress As CMS With 25 Great WP Plugins & Designs – This extensive article goes over reasons for using WordPress as a CMS, some helpful plugins to use, as well as some amazing examples of creative WordPress sites.

45 WordPress People you need to follow – This post over at WooCamp lists 45 Twitter users who you should probably follow if you’re interested in WordPress. Although I’m not on the list, you can follow me @themelab.

That’s all for this week. If you know of any recently published WordPress resources, feel free to let me know!
