Sidebar Table Design?

    Hi Leland

Just stumbled into your page in my desperate search for WP tools and help.

It looks very professional and useful – you’re in my “favourite list” now.

I’ve been playing a bit with DotNetNuke, but have now my first WP blog up and running since a few days back. Very new to this stuff.

    Here it is: http://www.pratapengar.nu/wordblog/index.php

My first problem is the sidebar, looks pretty skinny and empty.
Looks like you, and may others, are using some table layout??

Can I find the code for it – or is it a completely different theme you are using?

    Cheers for now…

You may want to consider using sidebar widgets to fill up your sidebar.

More info here: What exactly is a widget-ready WordPress theme?

    Thanks Leland

I just went through your tutorial – excellent and easy to follow.

One problem with being at this early stage – I get a couple of questions answered and immediately fin 5 or 6 new once.

But I followed the tutorial and stuck in a few Widgets in the sidebar.
But it didn’t change the appearance a bit?

Looking at your example in the tutorial, do I need to change to a “two-side column-theme”?

On this site you are using full width banners, 3 column split and 2 column split????????

I had some Google ads in my sidebar before this experiment, they are now gone. Do I need to put Google code into the text-widgets now? Would that be the case with other Affiliate banner ads?

How do I access the code? Do I need to go back to “sidebar.php”?

That’s it for now Leland, I’m going to look for some RSS feeds.

    Cheers for now…

    Hi Leland

Can you please suggest a theme for a beginner?

At the moment I have the 2 column WP-Default theme, but believe that I can’t utilize the space to the right sufficiently.

    Help!

A good theme for a beginner might be the Sandbox theme: http://www.plaintxt.org/themes/sandbox/
