I am struggling to get the Search Widget to work properly in our test blog (http://blog.thewinonline.com/). Adding Search to the bottom of the Sidebar (along with Categories, Tags, Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Archives) shifts elements around particularly the footer. If I move Search up to the top my Sidebar headings change size.

Not sure what to do and where to turn for help on this issue. Our plan is to use the Widgets in the order listed above with Search at the top.

Thank you for your help and expertise on this issue.

You could use the conditional tag is_page('your-page-slug') in the sidebar. For example, on the about page you would do this.

<?php if (is_page('about')) { ?>
Put your about page code here
<?php } ?>

Hi Leland

I believe I saw an article here about “conditional display” in sidbar? Or was it at the WP page?

Anyway, I want to alter the sidebar display on the different pages.
How do I go about doing that?

Thanks!!!

On 2008-05-22 14:44:20 I posted this question:

Furthermore I discovered that the links in the sidebar don’t work in IE 7 under Windows XP. Any idea about it?

On 2008-06-16 02:08:02 DeadDuck recognized the same problem.

Also…. I just noticed that this problem occurs when light.css is selected. The links works with dark.css when selected two sidebar configuration, but not in light.css.

Leland said he had no problems with the sidebar. But my problem remains the same. Yesterday I noticed it again at friends. But I guess there must be something different in the light.css and the dark.css?

But what?

The Home/Discussion/RSS Feed image links under the search box inTomodachi's sidebar break out of the brown bounding box on Safari 3.1 on OS X Leopard. Looks fine in Firefox 3.Here's an image link for reference:

http://idisk.mac.com/dcharti/Public/Pictures/Skitch/Tomodachi_WordPress_issue-20080629-103748.jpg

Since Tomodachi is a free theme, is there any support for it?

Thanks for any help.

aborisov on "I need help with styles."

Hello!

It is on my website. http://www.a-borisov.com/

I've tried to modify the theme. It was with two columns.
Originally the theme is here

http://blog-themes.kalinawebdesigns.com/themes/index.php?wptheme=Blue+Tech+Fluid

Right now it is three columns. But I can't make the style to work correctly. With IE and Opera everything works just fine. But Firefox don't. Actually, when it is loading you can see the links for a moment. But after page loaded I can't see the links on left sidebars.
If I open the post, here just for example
http://www.a-borisov.com/2008/06/10/lytdybr-nemnogo-otricatelnyx-emocyj/

I can see the links on my left sidebar, but only еру part what's below the content.

Can you give me some Idea?

To Moderator. I'm really sorry, I've put this post not in the right section. Please, move it where it is supposed to be?

Thank you!

I'm really sorry.

I have been on my way to adapt the Choice theme for my site. Thanks Leland for all the help. But I discovered just yesterday that the sidebar is not active in Internet Explorer 7. This was on a XP system. I never noticed it because I work with a Mac and Firefox. Does anybody has a clue to solve this?
Thanks, Bart
