I did some searching and discovered that
THEMATIC_COMPATIBLE_BODY_CLASS was not set to true. So I used this code:
define(‘THEMATIC_COMPATIBLE_BODY_CLASS’, true);

Now I get the 2-columns to work :)

Can you please explain why ‘not-singular’ is not automatically outputted? Thanks!
