Today we have another free WordPress theme, originally designed by DemusDesign. This one has a widget-ready sidebar, with 4 different widgetized areas for the top, middle (left and right), and bottom.

How do you change the bottom bars? Are they widgets? or do ya just have to edit the code manually?

@Anto: Unfortunately they have to be edited manually. I wasn’t able to widgetize the footer.

This is a nice theme. I really like the split sidebar format, and have been looking a long time for a replacement for the frankly rather ugly Andreas04, which also does this.

Two minor criticisms: Comment text is too bright, and text in the comment box is too dim. I can probably fix this myself.

@Daran: Thanks for the comments. I appreciate the criticism as well. Hopefully those two things you mentioned would be easily edited via the stylesheet.

I’m having trouble with the sidebar widgets since I updated Wordpress. When I add a text/html widget, it all goes out-of-whack, and throws my layout to the right side. Are there any know bugs with the upgrade to the new WP version?

@Brandon: I currently don’t see any problems with your site (linked in your comment). Are you still having problems? If so, could you provide a screenshot or something so I could better understand? I haven’t had this problem reported before.

Thanks for the reply, Leland. I think the problem was when I had no sidebar widgets defined. It defaulted back to my old widgets, which I could not access to change. I removed all widgets, and started over, without any problems.

The theme is great, by the way. Thanks for your hard work.

Hey Leland.

Really liking this template! Perfect for a site I’m working up.

So here’s the thing … I’m not at all familiar with coding but would really like to be able to place a custom made header in there. Any chance you could give me a few pointers? Thanks in advance.

Love this theme but had a quick question.

How do you change the 2 Announcement areas? We can not figure it out.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

@TVDinner: Glad to hear it. You can change the text in the two announcement areas by manually editing the sidebar.php file. Alternatively, you can add text widgets in the “Top Sidebar” and “Bottom Sidebar” areas to override the current announcement text.

One other question - In the header how would I add the word “Search” before the search rectangle. I tried it and messed things up so wanted to ask her here.

THANK AGAIN!
