Today’s free WordPress theme doesn’t have the usual structure you’ll see on your every day theme. It’s not widget-ready, because there’s no space in the sidebar for listing categories, archives, blogroll, etc. This theme is for those looking for a simple (but good looking) theme without all the extra bells and whistles. Check out the live demo here. Download it here. Screenshot below.

This is a ported theme, originally designed by DemusDesign. Leave a comment if you have any port requests out of their other free templates, and I’ll see what I can do.

I am working on a new site and have become enraptured by this “Bipolar” design. It has none of the features I was looking for — which is probably why it looks so good.

I wonder if you could rig an expansive footer to the design, that would give us a widget-friendly way of cramming in the goodies, without destroying the clean look of the main page above the footer. You could leave a lot of space between the main section and the footer.

I am going to try to do it on my own, but I have no skills. Woe is me.

@Richard: Yes, I left the widgets out of this one because there’s not really any space in the sidebar for anything besides page navigation. I suppose some space could be made in the footer but I left this out because it wasn’t how the orignal template was designed. Thanks for commenting and good luck with your edits!

I have been using this theme for a few months now on my blog and I love it, however recently I am having a hard time getting the formatting to stick. I have to reformat after every time I save a post and I am getting these weird white bars over any text that is not indented. Can you help?

I really love the theme. I have downloaded several of them. i will use them in rotation for my blog. But this one is my personal favorite of them all. It is very neat and very professional looking.

Hi there,

great job with bipolar theme!
I know there is no space in sidebar for listing categories or else, and i actually have no skills in coding, but i recently saw this theme for dotclear

http://themes.dotaddict.org/demo-dc2/?theme=wjsdarksimple

that made me wonder if it would be to complicated to implement its sidebar rolling system in bipolar’s?

Anyway great job!

I like the fixed-position sidebar. But how about different colors, like blue?
