I’m not sure what you’re saying though. You mean Akismet actually “causes” spam? I don’t see how this is possible.

I have a story to tell.

When I was using Akismet I got many spam comments a day before I got the idea that something was not right with Akismet. What I did was to disable Akismet and instead moderate comments with links. For few days the spam did continue. I banned a few IP adresses while new spam comments did continue. In a few days time the spam stopped. I did not ban all spam IP’s.

I have not got any spam for many days now. Because of this I’m wondering if Akismet brings spam to the spam folder or not.
