New hosting from JaguarPC
If can see this post right now, then you’re viewing the site from our new host, JaguarPC. I became completely fed up with the previous host, HostNine (not going to give them a link), and decided enough was enough. Earlier today you may have noticed lots of issues accessing the website, especially the demo server, which I know was completely inaccessible for me for quite some time. Just a few tips when getting hosting:
- If a host says they have a “99.9% uptime guarantee, never believe it.
- Do your homework. Read verifiable reviews, testimonials, etc.
- Try to avoid “overselling” or hosting plans offering way too many resources than are actually available.
- Go with established hosts with solid reputations and stay away from the “fly-by-night” hosting companies.
- Don’t choose the absolute cheapest host you can find. Chances are these cheap hosts will cause more headaches than its worth.
Hopefully I won’t have to run into these hosting issues in the future. Theme Lab has really been growing fast and traffic is increasing by the day. JaguarPC has been around since 1998, they have a great reputation in the industry, and I’m confident to have this site hosted with them. Let me know of any bugs you come across while browsing the site, although I should have everything taken care of.

Looking for web hosting?
Question: What's the best type of web hosting?
Answer: The kind you don't have to worry about.
And that's precisely why I recommend HostGator. I've been using them myself for years and they've been nothing short of superb.
Fast load times, great support, WordPress-friendly, and good prices. Not much more you can ask for.
New customers can get 25% off of any HostGator web hosting package with the coupon: themelab25percentoff
Note: I am a HostGator affiliate, but that doesn't make my recommendation any less genuine.

I use HostNine and they have gone down hill since they launched.
The thing that sucks about HostNine’s 99.9% uptime policy is they don’t actually guarantee 99.9% uptime. I used Host-Tracker to monitor my website and my site was down 5% of the time. When I asked for a refund for the month, they said they wouldn’t take a 3rd party monitoring service as proof of downtime. So basically they don’t guarantee 99.9% uptime. They might have good uptime some of the time.. but it sucks they sell customers based on a crap policy.
Thanks for commenting, Brenden. What hooked me in was their attractive Reseller Central plan. There was always quick support, usually receiving responses in less than 5 minutes. With the constant downtime and site issues I experienced soon after, honestly I couldn’t care less about quick support and decided to switch. Everything seems to be going smoothly at JaguarPC, so I’m glad I did.
Yes, I just cancelled my H9 account due to downtime probs. What made it worse was that my support desk was also down! I am definitely going to use an uptime tracker now!
